Disruption expected | Database Migration in progress!

BUG! Hot fix coming soon!
Early releases: Video Player, Home Page
Minor Update; added admin buttons similar to the larger update hub.
Made a large number of improvements.
A little redesign never hurt nobody...
Just splashing out some ideas on how to redesign the homepage for the GMG stacked design language, obviouslybased on an older version of MO and isn't indicative of final release. I mostly want feedback on the menus (which will be collapsable, similar to how they are/will be in the og home page) and the colour splash (which will be changable in user settings. The mini menu will almost completely be popout menus whilst the fat menu will be all main page links, hopefully to differentiate them.
You can access this new page in the "PV" button in the OG home mini menu.
Other than this there might not be any more updates to the old home (unless it's to test the feasibility of a new feature, or to fix the mobile mode)
Looking forward to the future! Roadmap - August
I'm starting to truly build the websites up, and as such I should start thinking about making more consistant road map. Here's our first one;
August will be my next month for feature update completions. Right now, I've got an idea on what I want to do for 3 of our products.
Media Otaku In August, I plan to release Home Page V into the wild, this version will bring our “Stacked” design language to Media Otaku.
Shopping List (PLUS) For shopping List Plus, I plan on revising the edit pages to reflect our current design practises, including bringing the “Stacked” design language, a notification to refresh the page (because Editorx’s default behaviour is to use the cached version) and to bring themes v5 to shopping list & shopping list plus (Along with account settings.)
Business Centre For Business Centre, I plan on integrating workspaces and (hopefully) release it by August. It’ll be interlinked with tasks and unlike the PV version, it’ll also have a progression mode (which will sort it into “Current Task”, “Next Task” and “Goal” which will be a complex web of datasets that makes it easier to focus on 1 task at a time. The shareable task list should also release before then.
A new tip feature on the home page
Just a quick update
Simple UI Update
Multimedia Updates
I've now added the opportunity to add media to our updates. You'll see it below in future updates. Let's see how this project fairs.
Update: There's an issue with the multimedia part of the gallery, turns out the media part of the database isn't compatible with the "Pro Galleries" which is the only way to easily add more than 1 image without having to upload to entirely seperate database.
Performance upgrades, new ad, redesigned update hub
UI tweaks to profile, mobile optimisation and back end tidy up.
...More like some much needed features are coming to Media Otaku
URLs: We're aware that the mediaotaku.comdomain has been taken from right underneath my nose, I'm working both alternate urls and alternate branding for the site (both as awful as each other) for now, there are some broken links throughout the site, the site is docile, so you should be good until I find and alter the behaviour of the URLs (They're mostly in the older parts of the site, so it shouldn't affect ya's too much.)
Now, after that announcment, I've got plenty to share...
Okay, not that much, but I'm bringing back an older, but more refined feature "Watch Live" which willl showcase a random creator's live stream. I'm also working on a miniturised version of the menu, which should make it easier to navigate the site, I'm still working on the designs of these features, and neither are functional yet. The icons are also subject to change. And the new section also breaks mobile compatability, so for the time being, please use the tablet mode of the site (this is accessable by tapping on the "show desktop version" or similar text in the menu of your favourite browser. May not be available for IOS and IPadOS users, but idk cause I use neither device OSs)
Updated Update Hub UI
New features in video playback
We will be transferring short link provider
In August, from the first, we will be moving provider, to ensure a smooth transition, we will not be keeping our existing short links. Standard ones like https://gmdi.page/mediaotaku will be added manually from the moment we move, but context specific ones, promotional links and some of our links we use for aggregated numbers, won't function any more. We'll try to restore some services, such as those for our ads, but bare minimum will be transferred.
Later in August, our email inbox, as well as our short links will be disabled temporarily whilst we transfer providers. This is because we'll need to create new records for our emails. When this happens, support tickets will be processed by Tabbit's support inbox (support@ggtabbit.com).
The shortlink transfer should not affect email services before then.
If you have any questions please contact support@gmdi.page and we'll answer them up to 24 hours before the transitions.
This is posted in all update hubs, on Twitter (@grahamalain), on instagram (gganimeotaku), on whistle (animeotaku).

Update HUB Upgrade
I've added a few new updates to the Update HUB, one of which is to make my job a little easier...
Firstly, the update that makes... aaaaaactually.... take a look at the bottom of this post, in full page mode:
Yes, you have to look,
Firstly I fixed "Related Updates, but that's not what you should be looking at!
You see, there's now a gallery, and if you look at the last 5 updates across about 3 products, well I uploaded (well... forced myself to upload by making it compulsory to publish updates) a screenshot of each new update. And now, as you see, I ended up adding it even if the past updates will show the default images.
Now we got outta the way, if you look at the smart filter update page, you'll see a plus icon, this is just to make it quicker to add updates.
Finally mentioned above, I fixed related updates, it broke cause it was based off the wrong content, it was using the page dataset instead of the custom datasets.
I think that's it, so farewell from animotaku, I'll see yas on Twitch later!
Introducing Quick Launch Lite
The thing about building a search engine, is intergrating it into everything you work on, and as such, I've built Quick Launch Lite, which brings the features we built for Quick Launch, to all the sites we operate.
So far this new feature is only on Media Otaku Home but we'll expand it over time to Whistle, Tabbit and Tabbit Notes.
About Quick Launch V3 Lite
Quick Launch V3 Lite is a new cross site feature that allows other sites to embed the Quick Launch Search Directory to sites without having to interface with our backend. Built for desktop it covers search & Account Settings and loses the sections. We're also planning it so you can see results without the popup and navigate other areas. We'll also reduce the number of datasets used, though as it is based on the full V3 this is not yet the case. You'll need an Quick Launch account to get started, but you won't need to connect to your Media Otaku account unless you want to use the GoMedia Pass Exclusive functions on the full site.
Launching stage 2 soon!
Update
I've just pushed a new Quality of Life Update which shifts the formerly horizontal card to the right hand side of the screen. This allows users to get to the content faster, whilst also hideing the card for viewers who don't create content. I hope this makes the website a little better to use, and cleans up the UI a touch, not to mention that you no longer need to scroll horizontally. When both expanded menu and card is displayed, it should also be nicely balanced on desktops and horizontal tablets (Optimisations are still needed specifically for vertical tablets, IPads and mobiles.)
There are no other updates for today (for Media Otaku at least).
Sponsor section on videos are now live

New QOL feature.
Hello, welcome users to the latest update by ya boi, Alain aka animeotaku.
We're proud to announce yet another update in the QOL Update Series. Today we have added yet another feature to make reading updates easier. We're talking about update series. Here's a basic outline to the different series and how it works.
First let's talk about interaction.
You can interact with update series' by opening any update and scrolling down to "Related Updates". All updates in this section are in the same update series.
Next we'll talk about the categories. For simplicity sake we're going to show you a template for description, it'll be shown below;
Update Series Title
Full title (If nessicary)
What the series is about.
-----------------------------------------
Our first one:
QOL
Quality of Life Updates
These updates are about improving interactions, database alterations and fixing some issues that are not bugs.
Viva la revolution
Feature Update: Viva la revolution
This update series is an example of feature updates, for ease of use, these feature updates have individiual series' to help more easily find feature updates from the same series'.
Bugs:
This series is exclusively bug fixes.
{BLANK}
Blank updates cluster together, these are only updates that we are yet to categorise, including older updates.
-----------------------------------------
Bugs in this update:
Due to making changes in the database to allow for formatting, old updates' text is too small to easily read. Since this is a bug made from changing the field type, this can't be fixed without me going into each text field and rewriting all of the updates. This won't be fixed, however it doesn't affect all future updates so we'll be continuing from here on in. I won't be deleting old updates so they will remain accessable for the foreseeable future. If you wish to read the updates, feel free to copy and paste them into a note taking application to read them.
I haven't updated the the embeddable verion of update hub with the new changes yet, so this update will appear blank for the time being.
Background updates:
We updated the database and changed the way we format updates. Updates now use rich text instead of simple text.
We added rich text elements to our internal update editor and new update uploader.
We added a text column to make categorising of updates easier.
We added a text box to allow us to add an update category to updates.
That's all for today's updates, thanks for reading,
Alain.

UI matches the stacked design language - Fixing Bugs - New Default Page Theme
Today's update is all about the video page.
First of all, the page is largely kept the same; the key differences are as follows:
- NEW HEADER
I've copied and pasted the header from the home page, only adding a way to access the old menu. I'll eventually migrate the new menu over, but moving it isn't as simple as copying and pasteing as you can see with Whistle.
- NEW PAGE THEME
I've redesigned the page theme to match the design language of the new Media Otaku Home Page to better cordinate designs and themes in the future, watch for more progress. The page also now matches our stacked design language being used across all GoMedia Group sites and sub-sites such as Whistle, Shopping List Plus, Tabbit, Quick Launch, Watchlist on Quick Launch and the Media Otaku Homepage.
Annnd now, some backend updates;
- Modified the video dataset to alter how it interacts with sponsors to fix the infamous incorrect description bug.
- Changed the AdSpot text to "AdSpot for Creators" to represent how this works differently from our other AdSpots.
- Changed the behaviour of the AdSpot text from a fixed text styling to a collapsable field to better improve readability.
- Updated the AdSpot section due to changes in behaviour and data connections.
- Updated the hidden Whistle box to reflect changes in our approach to Whistle's comment ability.
- Removed excess images to make the new theme more cohesive.
- Fixed some sizing issues and scaling issues with text.
- Fixed design flaws in the mobile version of the site.
Thanks for your continued support whilst we update existing pages to match the new design language.

QOL Update: Home (old), Home (ALPHA)
Made improvements to the new homepage, including optimising it for mobile. I also fixed the issues reguarding mobile and tablet modes for the old homepage. This is part of an upgrade process for the site (I wanted to finish these updates before I concentrate on updating the content flow on the page.)
I also shifted the adspot area for the inline content area so that you shouldn't see more than 3 ads in the same screen space on any device. There's still some fixes than need doing, but for now, you should see that it feels better to use on all devices.
Other updates include;
Menus in Home (ALPHA) is now collapsable, in addition to adding a menu expand/collapse buttons. Sidebar now collapses when you open or close the menu.

Stacked Design 2.5 & 3.0 - Media Otaku
--- This update has been added directly through the database, as such it may look a bit different. All updates until further notice will be done this way due to an issue with the site editor ---
Hello Folks!
It's me animeotaku! and I have an update for y'all, but first of all, an apology!
So it's been a while, ay? and for that, I'm truly sorry.
You see, I've started taking on Commissions and started a hobby based website all in 1 go, and my main job has had me swamped, so I've had a mental gymnastic break.
The hobby site is Shrimp's Cottage. It's a take on the atomic shrimp content and I've been given sudo-agreement to continue for now, subject to Atomic Shrimps requests, which of course, I'm happy to follow, as I am technically leveraging his brand.
I've started work on a website for a blinds company, in the interest in trust, that is all I'll say for now.
Anyways, today I talk about a major change to the Stacked-Layer Design Language.
Recently Wix added the ability to blur the background of boxes calling it glass effect. This is a feature I have been wanting for a long while, and it's a feature that really makes the language pop.
So the design spec has been modified to bring it in full affect.
In addition to this, wix did remove a feature that the design spec was heavily using; Vertical Sections. As a result, the design now uses pinned boxes, whilst the change was unwelcome at first, combined with "Glass Effect" I've manage to alter the design.
All of this is part of the stacked language 3.0 update, that is currently being worked on, between Whistle, Media Otaku and Quick Launch initially. Shrimp Cottage will be based somewhere in between 2.0 and 3.0, we'll call it 2.5.
