Disruption expected | Database Migration in progress!

Welcome to Quick Launch 5
The Quick launch 5 product demo is available for all users to try, why not give it a try today!
Hello folks!
And welcome to another update from ya boi, animeotaku.
And today, do we have an update.
Also, hello apple, welcome to the sweet, sweet home of glas design language. I've been using it since Wix introduced it to us well before it launched on apple devices.
Anyhow, todays update actually draws a little more on what is possible with the Glass-Stacked Design Language.
First off, you'll see a drastic improvement to aesthetics from V1 through to now, if anyone ever made an account you can actually see the early days of V3, but did you know, there was a V0 of the site?
In fact all of the sites have a V0 of some sort.
I'll slowly be showing off V0's of all the sites (and maybe even make a feature page comparing what is different, what is the same, andd what happened at the time) so keep an eye out for the first issue which will go over V0 of Quick Launch through to V5.
In today's actual update though;
- I improved readability of text by bluring the image below under a pane of glass
- Enlarged and altered the logo to look cooler
- Added a blurred PV of search that will eventually be added to the none-NPCC version of the site (Double negative, sorry guys)
- Changed the background to show off how customisation will impact the final product when ready.
See the photos, or play around with it by visiting gmdi.page/ql5
(PS coloured boxes are preview testing only and will not be in final version)
Fresh Icon Pack, Bug Fixes, New AdSpot Hubs
New Icon Pack:
Now that I've got the buttons I want for Quick Launch Quick Links I think it's time to develop additional icon packs. Some Icon Packs will be exclusive to GoMedia Pass Subs and others will be available freely. Whilst the new Settings HUB is being built, all premium packs will be available for free as we continue to test them. First we'll release Gold Series as pictured in the images below.
Gold Series Release:
Gold Series is the first Icon Pack available for the ZOHO Docs & and Microsoft Office set of Quick Links. This set will be exclusive to GMP users in the future, and existing pack users will have it replaced with Silver Series when it happens. (Silver series is the same pack, only in black-silver rather than grey-gold). Each logo is personally crafted to fit into the design of the default wallpaper. Whilstit's available for Word, Writer, Presentation, Show, Excel and Sheets, I plan to extend it to Zoho Workdrive, OneDrive, Bing (As a varient) and the Google Suite of Web Apps. There'll also be a way to filter through different Icon Packs that are available either in Free or GMP so that users can feel at ease knowing they can match up their wall paper to their favourite icons and visa versa. This Icon Pack doesn'ty have an expiry date, and will remain on site perpetually.
New Features:
AdSpot now has a seperate hub in development, this should allow us to track the number of clicks without user data being utilised, and give a different design for ads, improving their value as an information hub.
Bug Fixes:
In this update we fixed the following bugs:
In QL for Users:
Fixed the Quick Launch Quick Links button size bug
Fixed the adspot resize bug
Fixed the search box and slightly redesigned it for tablet and mobile.
Freshening up:
I cleaned up the layout of the search box
Cleaned up the layout of the section containg the search box
Resized it so that it's smaller on mobile
Update Post Correction: - Same Day, 05 42-
Added Microsoft Office to the first Paragraph in "Gold Series Release"
Minor Feature Update
Simply added a festive theme PV.
Ended Halloween theme.
Added "More steam games" to the steam games' page, similar to how epic games pages have "More epic games store games"
Got a new feature, Mini Dev Blog Introduction and Episode 1
Cause my updates are practically dev blogs anyways, might as well write them BEFORE I do an update and in a more casual tone.
Episode 1: Features, A singular Bug and a incoming redesign.
So, as you all know EVERYTHING and I mean everything is getting a redesign. I've already started on Media Otaku (and it's already accessable by GMP:AT subscribers) but I also started work on Whistle (which really looks like the redesigned Media Otaku), Tabbit (also looking closer to Media Otaku) and I've modified the video page with the new header (Menu will come at a later date but I CBA as it needs modification and database connections for every page that it's on... so yeah!, lazy Alain cba to make edits to a menu he made :) ). Next up I plan to update Quick Launch with a similar style of interface (though with a bit of QL flair). I'm also not happy with creator profile and link hub, and will slowly, but surely will redesign it with a better aesthetic.
Soooo I need an image to upload to Update HUB (at least until I make a seperate interface for Dev Blogs) soooo let's talk about a teeny tiny bug in the update uploader. Baaaaaaasically I need to optimise the desktop view for when my tablet is zoomed out (Cause 100% on samsung tablet is waaaaaay to big) It essentially just needs the size of each element ( so the parts of the form that take about 1/2 the screen will be capped at 43 viewport width, things that are less that 1/3 will be 25vw and the parts that are full width will be about 85-95vw (Haven't decided yet)
And I was gonna write about a new feature but I'm too tired and watching guardians otg vol 3 on the TV.
Start of a new era in Quick Launch Search.
QL Feature Launch - Bug Fixes - Feature Upgrade
Minor Update; making updates easier to write.
Building an ecosystem of products...
Whistle Go is a portable version of whistle which we can embed into our other sites. Whistle go will have 3 initial features:
- Send/Recieve public whistles. Currently set to public by default.
- Send/Recieve reply to whistles. Currently in development.
- Utilise your Media Otaku colour theme. Currently in development.
I also plan to have variations of whistle for specific sites. You'll also be able to open whistle settings from any site in the future, as well as special settings for whistle go.
It is now installed into the current account free theme page (Xmas Edition) and will be installed on other pages in the future.
New Quick Launch Feature; Game HUB
Update 24032023
Game HUB allows users to quickly find what they're after. Using Content Currator, you can now see a games' DLC, game trailer and the game download page.
Each hub is stylised based on the storefront that the game is on. Steam has an extended image inspired by the download process, epic games has a more blocky approach. Each page design will be refined over time.
Future Plans;
I plan to also allow you to quickly navigate between store front versions.
Right now, it's not a perfect experience, but I plan to make it easier to use, and even prettier than ever before.
We also plan to build a search function for DLC and many more features.
Conclusion
Try it out now, Moonlighter and Hogwarts Legacy is ready with this feature now, and more games will be in the future as we slowly build the library.
Update HUB, No account default design, more plans.
More stuff
Added the new front thingy to the curation page, so now some content can get that good look. You'll see it first on the Disney Plus page, but we'll add it to more pages over time (Right now, making fronts are time heavy as I have to make each one manually, and they're generally not exactly high resolution so it's slow.)
Looking forward to the future! Roadmap - August
I'm starting to truly build the websites up, and as such I should start thinking about making more consistant road map. Here's our first one;
August will be my next month for feature update completions. Right now, I've got an idea on what I want to do for 3 of our products.
Media Otaku In August, I plan to release Home Page V into the wild, this version will bring our “Stacked” design language to Media Otaku.
Shopping List (PLUS) For shopping List Plus, I plan on revising the edit pages to reflect our current design practises, including bringing the “Stacked” design language, a notification to refresh the page (because Editorx’s default behaviour is to use the cached version) and to bring themes v5 to shopping list & shopping list plus (Along with account settings.)
Business Centre For Business Centre, I plan on integrating workspaces and (hopefully) release it by August. It’ll be interlinked with tasks and unlike the PV version, it’ll also have a progression mode (which will sort it into “Current Task”, “Next Task” and “Goal” which will be a complex web of datasets that makes it easier to focus on 1 task at a time. The shareable task list should also release before then.
QOL - Quick Launch Search History (Expanded Page)
Updated the design of the Search History results page to be more in-line with the game hub design.
We're also working on a variety of QOL upgrades, so keep an eye in update hub for more information!
did an update accidentally cleared it... again.
Lot's of micro-updates
Not a lot of major updates, mostly getting the Autumn theme ready for release and working out kinks in Steam and Epic Games gaming hubs. 🎶 It's getting cold in here, so put on all your clothes. 🎶
Updates include (from memory, so may not be complete);
Resized page for Epic Games hub to make it look nicer. That's a tall-er tale.
Restructured mobile & tablet/vertical views for Epic Games Hub (Steam Hub was done at an earlier date, but I also did some optimisations). The leaning tower of mobile phones.
Added "Fronts" to Quick Links and added some content to fronts for a pv. I added the feature to the Accountless homepage (for autumn). Now that's a cute one.
Added additional content from epic games into CC and updated other CC content to include a trailer and PV images. Bigger = Better.
Changed the behaviour of section 3 "Gaming" to now include direct links to the respective games' game hub page. 1 less click to worry about, 10 more to go.
Obviously, added game logos to the "Gaming" section. So that's the video game everyone's always raving about!
Finally; updated the freebies section, now contains f2p and f2start games and updated caveats and layout to reflect this. It's content has also been updated retired long expired games, and added currently free, and free from tommorrow titles.
* Update screenshot is on a HDR display, so is about 60% whiter than it should be (couldn't be bothered to edit it). Visit the Autumn page by clicking the link in the pride page in the notice banner.
Finally feeling it
Bringing GoMedia Group Design Closer Together!
We're redesigning Quick Launch design even closer to our other sites. We're rolling out this modernised design to all our apps.
This design is called QuickLaunch Arch 1 part of the Multi-tierd design that started with the applets across all of our sites. This design is still a work in progress, but I feel that the design feels more modern than the original.
If you feel that the design doesn't feel quite right, feel free to message me over on Media Otaku @ https://go-media.editorx.io/2020 .
Thanks for reading, Alain AKA animeotaku
Welcome to the first update for Quick Launch.
Fixed Some Bugs & Fixed Some Mobile Issues
Mobile Optimisations:
Menus (The V3 Home)
Settings Applet
Settings Applet Embeded Page
Bug Fixes:
V3 Home Oversized Headers
V3 Home Freebies Theming
Updates to features:
Home Feed now uses headerless design seen on themed and NACC pages.
Freebies for V3 Home now features the time limit and an improved design for all versions.
Content Update:
More Free-To-Play Titles
Xbox Titles will now show up. I've seperated Game Pass PC & Ultimate for easier navigation in the future!
Engagement hubs have started development
We're phasing out content curator, as it needs refinement. They've been around a while now, and have gotten a bit bulky, not to mention many hubs have a lot of free space, that is why the new Engagement hub is being built. Based on the Game HUB concept we'll be buuilding specialised hubs that are a little different depending on the type of content. For example, Cinema HUB won't have the freebies section, but the Game HUB will, instead Cinema HUB will have just 2 sections; "Promotions" and "Content/Showings". Game HUBS will have 3 sections; "Freebies", "DLC/Optional Transactions" and "Sequels". The new design should strengthen the content available.
It's design will have 3 phases;
Connection - this is the part that links the homepage and the content page, it will store the name of the content, a Hub link and the QL connector code.
Content - This will store the Name, QL Link Code, MO Link Code, Category, any data assosiated with it's identity (Banners, trailors, media, logos etc) and content link code.
Curator - Thiswill store the additional content (IE DLC information, Voucher codes, Shop Link just to name the curator examples).
For the purpose of search, the standard results will be replaced by copnnection, and content curator will be replaced by curator.
Ib hope this improves searchability and use of the site.
Optimising Specialised Pages
I've added icons to our specialised pages forthe game content that's displayed (So far, Cities Skylines, Cities Skylines 2 and High on Life have this feature) amking the pages prettier than ever.
I've also partially optimised the Epic Games page, and fullyoptimised the Steam page to look good on mobile and tablet.
In content updates; I've added High on Life, Cities Skylines, Cities Skylines 2 and Death Stranding to the content database (on games pages and in content curator). These are not yet complete as all media needs to be added for death stranding, and trailors for the remaining 3 need to be uploaded. I'll also be adding support for personal video link uploads (for media otaku, youtube, twitch clips and dailymotion). This will be heavily monitored and unrelated content will be removed. It'll take up to 36 hours for your video togo live as each video will need to be moderated against our terms of use. (IE no porno's, ecchi, super-violent or spoilers on the content that is demonstrated unless it is genuinly part of the original games' gameplay.)
Quick Launch Update - New Topics Included
Restoration of search 2.0
Updates to icons
Sorry for the gaps between updates. Update 28122022
More Conent added to the Quick Launch Shortcut Bar
Fixing, cleaning and more!
A fairly big QOL update;
1. Improved menu
Rebuilt the menu to allow us to more easily add & remove buttons as needed with less technical glitches.
2. Started work on the new year NACC page, with a (not surprising) surprise.
3. Improved the design for the DLC page, as well as altered the sort to better emphasise free experiences.
Try it out with the fortnite experiences.
We'll propergate the rest of the changes over time.
Ads have changed a little
Created A New Banner
Pride comes in many shades, colours and sizes, and now you can rep the full colours of pride, with more options coming in the future, such as trans pride, gay pride and asexual pride.
Currently, it works in colour-ways of black, pink, blue and the new light theme coming soon.
Content Currator for Quick Launch gets a face lift.
Plethora of updates, feature update: Cloud Provider now live and some interesting news...
I've been toiling away at creating one of the biggest QOL update Quick Launch has ever seen...
1. We've streamlines the Logged-In homepage so that Quick Access Apps are present on screen the moment you load in, this should also mean that it should be faster to scroll through the site.
2. Finished updateing headers so that they look the same, I've even updated some of the themes to incorporate this new design. See any of the pastel themes, leather theme or Stand for Ukraine theme to see these new headers in action (more coming later).
3. We're modifying the settings quick panel, to make it easier to see settings you can change on the fly, and to add a "Full Settings" button. We also modified the old settings and new settings page to reflect this. Please note; some pages may not be fully updated to reflect this new approach, be cautious to save any settings before changing pages.
4. We're working on Quick Launch Go! a simpler version for low performance machines and mini embeds. You'll see progress on this as it happens.
5. We've added Cloud support to the providers list and updated "Old Settings" to reflect this. As many peoplemay use different clouds at the same time for different focusses, you'll be able to change this in the new quick settings.
Our Domains;
Please be aware of disruption as we transfer our domains from our old DSP; Google, to our new DSP; Cloudflare. (DSP = Domain Service Provider). This is because SquareSpace has bought Google's Domain division and after regulatory approval will be moving data there. I do not plan on using any single website building company to host my domains, as such, Cloudflare is the next best option (it's cheaper there, than SS too, so should be able to maintain these domains easily, so we don't have a repeat of mediaotaku [dot] com.)
Updates to Content Curation, Search History, Search Results
Autumn NACC page being worked on, updated classic NACC and added a classic NACC button to themed pages!
We're slowly getting the new themed NACC page ready for Autumn 2023, this will be ready before September 2023, but GMP users can preview it from now, until september. Click this link to find out more.
We understand some people don't wanna celebrate with us, so Classic NACC will be publicly accessable for the forseeable future, and should recieve all future UI improvements alongside the theme pages. We're currently bringing it up-to-date as well. You can access this by clicking on the "Classic NACC" button that's now found at the end of the theme pages top-menu, or by using this link!
Thanks again for another successful update!
